L' AMORE
L'amore
credevo che fosse
una cosa breve
la cosa d'un momento,
invece soffiò
per tutta la notte
della vita
come un forte vento. (1984)
IL BILANCINO
Eccolo qui
il bilancino della nonna
dolce ricordo
di quella brava donna.
Quell'arnese
non era tanto preciso
ma il peso giusto
lo si leggeva in viso. (1984)

I thought it was
a short thing
the thing of a moment,
instead, it blew

of life
like a strong wind.
THE BALANCE
Here it is
grandma's scale
sweet memory
of that good woman.
That contraption
it wasn't that accurate
but the right weight
you could see it on her face.
